Katherine Kazarian is a life long resident of East Providence. She attended the Thompson Kindergarten Center, Myron J. Francis Elementary School, and St. Mary Academy-Bay View. While growing up in East Providence, Katherine volunteered as an AYSO coach and as a Sunday School assistant teacher. She was also a dedicated athlete and student, serving as the Captain of her high school soccer team and the Vice President of Bay View’s National Honor Society. 

Katherine graduated from Columbia University, where she majored in Urban Studies and Economics. While in college, Katherine was a member of Columbia University’s Peace by P.E.A.C.E. volunteer organization. As a member, she traveled to homeless shelters and public schools in Harlem to teach conflict resolution skills and conduct community workshops.   

Katherine was elected as a member of the House of Representatives for District 63 in September 2012.
